just some of my FAVORITE things
drive a taxi, have been for about 15 to 18 years now. Been asked a many questions and the only thing I can say is "I AM STILL HERE!"
I drive as an independent contractor , driving when ever I want, for as long as I want (or should that be , NEED to?!) Been asked if I have driven all my life....NOPE, ony about half!
I do have a life...seems so many don't think cabbie do anything but steer the car! You'd be surprised....many of us have COLLEGE degrees. Yes there is that big QUESTION: why are you driving a cab? There are alot of answers to that one, some good and not so ...well, there are lots of reasons.
Yes we have families as well. Mine have grown and left the nest so to speak, doing their own thing . One is full time army, another just graduated college with a BA, and my third is doing it ALL...raising two children, going to school for a BA and holding down a full time job. I want to say right here and now, I AM PROUD OF HOW MY KIDS GREW UP and are doing sooooo much better than I did at their age!!!
I was called grannie way before I became one ......it's my nickname and it stuck. But being grandma is right up there at the top of my list. I am really enjoying this. Those with grandkids know what I mean in the old saying "What goes around , comes around" Or like my mother use to say,"Just wait till you have kids of your own" Never thought I would be saying that , but did and now it's coming back to haunt!
This is my first try at this , not sure how it will come out or what responds I will get. If anything, there is still alot more to say, but not enough time...don't want to be falling asleep at the wheel now do I?
